Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan announced on Thursday his intention to run in the upcoming general election from the Pitapuram Assembly constituency in the East Godavari district. Speaking at the party’s formation day festivities at the party headquarters in Mangalagiri, Pawan Kalyan clarified that he is still debating contesting for a Parliament seat this time. He specifically mentioned his decision to vie for the Pitapuram Assembly seat.
Although the Jana Sena leader was anticipated to release a second list, only a few candidates were named for the Assembly seats. Meanwhile, the opposition TDP unveiled 30 candidates in its second list. The party is yet to announce an additional 23 candidates to fulfill its share of 144 Assembly seats in alliance. While it was expected that the Jana Sena leader would also unveil a list, he decided against it for now, opting to take the necessary time to select suitable candidates.
